Lone Survivor: Operation Red Wing
In the not your average military film operation Red Wing was taken on by 4 men in the United States Navy seals. Hiking for miles they were on a mission to find and assassinate a local Taliban terrorist leader in the small town. When arriving to the village they kept themselves hidden, staying camouflaged in trees up in the mountains. When found by three local gatherers they had to flee and move base up the mountain, it wasn't long until they were surrounded by an overwhelming amount of Taliban soldiers.
The movie deserves way more than five stars, it is more than emotionally moving. The actors portrayed 4 really strong charactered men, who made the film feel real. Although it was based off of a true story it was really action filled. The story line focused on the four men in the operation, rather than the overwhelming whole United States Navy Seals.
In terms of the movie line itself, it was really engaging, when the fighting starts about a quarter of the way through it doesn't stop. I cringed at the gory scenes but still looked through the cracks of my fingers to watch it.
Always having respect for the United States military growing up learning that these men are the ones who protect our country, but this movie opens eyes to so much more. The humane actions of the men in this movie showed how much they really loved people. They didn't merciless kill civilians or anything like that, the only ones who they fought against were the ones who were trying to kill them.
After watching the movie, I was truly left speechless. I highly recommend this movie, even for the people who don't like the gory scenes it's worth it.
